The kids Clinic

A web application designed for a clinic to make patient consultation and record-keeping paperless.

Designing an interface for the doctors to use in high-pressure situations like examining a kid, interaction with the parents, understanding the symptoms, and prescribing diagnosis and medicines. While all these things would happen simultaneously in a regular scenario, it was crucial that the interface was simple, had a low learning curve, had a focus on important aspects, and was accurate. Complexity was the major reason for the rejection of standard customizable tools available in the market. So it was important to make sure that the design was simple, intuitive, and easy to understand. Interviewing the doctors to understand their concerns was the first step in the process

In the case of designing for the front desk, design decisions were made based on the gathered insights like their current tasks, their technical capabilities, their language proficiency, and their learning curve. The simplicity of the design and a clean interface that required low cognitive attention was important as they were found multi-tasking various jobs like interacting with the arrived patients, checking the status of consultation, answering phone calls, printing bills and prescriptions, and doing monetary transactions.

The administration interface design was a standard process of gathering the task list and making sure every detail is covered and is accurately presented.

Design Process is as follows: 1. Understand existing users -> 2. Identify challenges for an intuitive experience -> 3. Create Information Architecture -> 4. Iterate Wireframes -> 5. Create a stylesheet and design the interface visuals -> 6. Provide technical team with required resources.
